NOTICE: THIS BOARD IS INACTIVE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.


The Advisory Council on Recreation and Parks monitors the activities and progress of the Recreation and Parks Department. It meets with the Recreation Director to review the Director’s report, financial statements, and policies relating to activities within the Recreation and Parks Department. The Advisory Council discusses new programs and the success of recent activities and serves as the voice of residents in addressing interests and concerns related to recreational activities to local government officials. 

The Advisory Council is comprised of nine city residents, including two representatives from the York City School Board, representing various aspects of the community. Members serve on a voluntary basis, for a term of five years, and are appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of City Council. 

Meetings:  The Advisory Council meets quarterly – on the second Tuesday in January, April, July and October at 4:00 p.m. in the Economic Development Conference Room located at 49 E. Market St., York, PA.
