The Dr. Frederick D. Holliday Equal Opportunity Conference and Luncheon Awards Ceremony is held on an annual basis. The event, which is hosted by the York City Human Relations Commission, is held in honor of the late Dr. Holliday, former superintendent of the School District of the City of York.
The Commission honors people in the York community for their work in promoting diversity, equality and non-violence. The Human Relations award winners come from all corners of the community.
The Commission also selects a senior high school student from York City that exemplifies high academics, commitment to school and community activities and community service for the Lewis Atwater III Memorial Youth Award.
The Commission also presents the Commissioner James McDonald Memorial County Award which honors folks who promote diversity, equality and non-violence throughout the County.
In conjunction with the Dr. Frederick D. Holliday Memorial Luncheon, The York City Human Relations Commission hosts an annual Equal Opportunity Conference.
Workshops are usually broken down into four areas of interest: employment; housing; community issues; and youth. Topics covered in the past include "best business practices in diversity - a case study" in employment, predatory lending, terrorism awareness and protection, and athletics and cultural conflict in youth.
During the 2007 Frederick Holliday Memorial Luncheon Lynne Holliday Anonye, Dr. Holliday's daughter
