CITY REMINDS RESIDENTS TO REMOVE SNOW AND ICE
February 5, 2010 – According to the snow removal requirements in York City’s Property Maintenance Code, property owners are required to remove snow and ice from their properties. The fine is levied by the district magistrate.
The owner of every property in the City of York is required to remove all snow and ice from their sidewalks, within twelve hours after snow has ceased to fall, clearing a pathway of at least thirty-six inches in width for the entire length of the sidewalk.
For safety, residents and businesses are asked to remove snow from nearby fire hydrants. The cleared area should be at least 36 inches (3 feet)
To reduce flooding, residents and businesses are asked to remove snow from storm water drains
It is a violation of city ordinance to deposit snow in the street. Violators will be fined.

WHERE: Kiwanis Lake/Farquhar Park
The City of York’s 35th Annual Easter Egg Hunt is scheduled to be held on Saturday, March 27, 2010 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Kiwanis Lake/Farquhar Park. Rain date will be Sunday, March 28, from 3 p.m to 5 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

YORK CITY HEALTH BUREAU OFFERING H1N1 VACCINE TO HIGH-RISK CHILDREN AND ADULTS WHO RESIDE IN YORK CITY
The York City Bureau of Health announces that it's offering free H1N1 vaccine by appointment to high-risk children and adults who reside in York City. The Bureau's nursing staff will continue to vaccinate York City School children in the weeks ahead, but will set aside as many as 15 hours per week to offer H1N1 vaccines at the Health Center.
The CDC has identified the following groups as priority groups for receiving the vaccination.
· Pregnant women
· Persons six months to 24 years old
· Healthcare providers and EMS personnel
· Parents, household members or caregivers of children under 6 months
· Those under 65 with significant underlying medical conditions
York City residents should call the York City Bureau of Health at
